Hideko G. Ono 大野秀子 グレイス

works in creative direction, editorial, and collaborative projects. She is from Papua New Guinea and Japan and currently lives and works in Kyoto. She works with artists and thinkers within the fields of contemporary art, printing, and experimental publishing. Her interests include registers of multiplicities, writing, and ways in which cultural studies address the critical challenges posed by artistic practice.

    About me 

    Hideko Grace Ono has held positions in creative direction, and project management collaborating with artists and thinkers working within the fields of contemporary art, printing, and publishing. She worked for 6 years as the Overseas Division Manager for Benrido, Inc. where she developed the company’s Collotype studio, their creative practice, and strategy. She has worked with the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin; Museo National del Prado; TATE International Council (Acquisitions/Patrons); SAHA Association, Istanbul, Turkey; The Metropolitan Museum of Art Photography Department of Conservation, N.Y, U.S.A; The Rijksmuseum department of Print Conservation Amsterdam, Netherlands; Centre Pompidou-Metz (Acquisitions/Patrons), France; and Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle Department of Research and Conversation Paris, France.

    She has lived in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea; Tokyo, Japan; Accra, Ghana; Suva, Fiji; Kigali, Rwanda; Nairobi, Kenya; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Lusaka, Zambia; London, United Kingdom; and Johannesburg, South Africa.


    現代アート、印刷、出版などの分野で活躍するアーティストや思想家とコラボレーションし、クリエイティブディレクションやプロジェクトマネジメントを行う。株式会社便利堂の海外始業部長として5年以上勤務し、同社のコロタイプ・スタジオとクリエイティブな活動を展開。これまでに、新ナショナルギャラリー (ドイツ、ベルリン)、プラド美術館(スペイン、マドリード)、TATE International Council、SAHA Association(トルコ、イスタンブール)、メトロポリタン美術館(アメリカ、ニューヨーク)、アムステルダム国立美術館(オランダ、アムステルダム)、ポンピドゥー・センター・メス(フランス、パリ)、国立自然史博物館(フランス、パリ)。

    パプアニューギニアのポートモレスビー、日本の東京、ガーナのアクラ、フィジーのスバ、ルワンダのキガリ、ケニアのナイロビ、マレーシアのクアラルンプール、ザンビアのルサカ、イギリスのロンドン、南アフリカのヨハネスブルグに住んでいました。
